WR Wilkins has new suitors

Decatur (Ill.) MacArthur junior wide receiver prospect Marques Wilkins (6-foot-2, 190 pounds) already has an early scholarship offer from the University of Illinois this off season, yet it seems like another Big Ten school could be close to making Wilkins his second offer shortly.
"It seems like Michigan State has really picked up it's interest in me over the last few weeks," Wilkins said. "The Michigan State coaches have called and talked with my coaches at school, and Michigan State also requested my junior tape last week. My coach said that the Spartans seemed very interested and could be offering me soon."

Wilkins has been training hard this winter getting ready for his spring and summer camp tours.
"I've been working really hard on all aspects of my game, and I've been hitting the weight room and the track pretty hard. I recently ran some 40's and my coach hand-timed me pretty consistently at a sub 4.4/40 yard dash. My goal is to run a sub 4.4/40 yard dash at the Nike Camp this spring."
Wilkins is also planning to fit in a few college spring practices and games over the next few weeks.
"I'm definitely going to check out a practice at Illinois. I'm also thinking about checking out Iowa, Michigan and Michigan State this spring."
