Decatur (Ill.) MacArthur junior wide receiver prospect Marques Wilkins (6-foot-1, 192 pounds) has added two additional offers, giving Wilkins four scholarship offers so far this spring.
"I received an offer today (Wednesday) from Wisconsin," Wilkins said. "The coaches from Wisconsin made an in school visit today and told my coach that they were offering me a scholarship. I was also offered a scholarship by Ball State a few weeks back. I have offers now from Illinois, Wisconsin, Duke and Ball State."
Wilkins talked about his latest offers from the Badgers and the Cardinals.
"I'm pretty excited to get an offer from Wisconsin. I've watched them on TV over the last few years and they have had great success. The coaches from Wisconsin saw my tape and told my coach that they are really excited about recruiting me, which is nice to hear. I've heard some good things about the campus and the facilities at Wisconsin, and I'll definitely try to check them out this summer."
"Ball State is a program that is really familiar with everyone at my school. Ball State has signed several players from my school over the last few years, including Dante Ridgeway who was drafted by the Rams this year. I'm really happy to get an offer from them."
Wilkins has also begun to hear about some in school visitors.
"So far Purdue, Wisconsin, Northern Illinois and Illinois have made in school visits. UCLA recently called my coach and said that they are planning to make an in school visit in May. It seems that schools didn't get my junior tape and now they are starting to see my video. It also seems that more schools are starting to show more interest over the last few weeks. Tennessee has started to send me mail along with a few new schools."
Wilkins is also excited to participate in the Ann Arbor Nike Camp this Saturday.
"I've been working really hard to get ready for the Nike Camp. I want to show everyone what I'm capable of doing on the field."
