WR sleeper sees stock begin to sizzle

One of the biggest sleepers heading into the season of 2002 was Venice, Calif., wide receiver Antwuan Giddens (6-4, 180, 4.5). Well he’s not a sleeper anymore. Teaming with B.J. Vickers, Venice high has one of the best wide receiver tandems in the Los Angeles Section of CIF.
Giddens fits the modern prototype wide receiver. He’s tall, fast, tough and he can jump and go get the ball. Giddens has been superb his senior season catching 47 passes for approximately 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns.

When you put up the type of numbers that Giddens has invariably you will get the attention of D-I schools. Add that to Giddens upsides and you can understand why there is a sizzle beginning on his recruitment.
Giddens has two visits set. Michigan State has already committed to a date and Giddens will head to East Lansing January 10th. The red hot Cal Bears are in line for the other committed visit.
Kansas State, Washington State and Colorado State are the leading contenders for the last three visits.
UNLV, Utah and Arizona State are also in the hunt.
