WR shows stuff at NIKE
Wide receiver prospect Russell Carr (6-2, 195, 4.6) from Chino (Calif.) Don Lugo passed the look test at the NIKE Camp held in Los Angeles and then went on to be one of the best wide receivers in attendance.
Carr is very athletic and has the versatility that D-I schools like. He has played quarterback, wide receiver and free safety on the high school level, but based on his NIKE Camp performance, he looks like he could end up as a pretty good wide receiver on the collegiate level. He definitely has the size that D-I schools covet in the modern wide receiver.

Carr has a great set of hands that he showcased at the NIKE Camp. Another thing noticed was his body control that helps him maneuver in the air and get to the football.
In the weight room Carr's max bench is 255, he benched 185-pounds 13 times and has recorded a 35-inch vertical jump.
Carr earned all-CIF, all-area, all-league and was his team's Back of the Year for his junior season performance while splitting time at quarterback and wide receiver.
As a quarterback, Carr threw for 450 yards and four touchdowns. From his wide receiver spot, Carr had 30 receptions for 450 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns.
Carr is known as a hard worker who is going through an intense off-season work-out to improve his already impressive skills. He is working on his routes and overall receiving skills with his quarterback.
Does Carr have an inspiration for his work ethic?
"I admire Jerry Rice for his work ethic and his off-season training," Carr said. "I want to work hard in the off-season too, so when the time comes, I'll dominate in the fourth quarter."
Obviously Carr is a very intelligent young man who knows what it takes to be successful. He currently carries a 3.3 core GPA and though he already took his SAT on April 1st, he's scheduled to take it again on May 6th.
Interesting enough Carr doesn't know the result of his first test; he just wants to challenge himself to be better.
On the recruiting front, Carr is getting attention from USC, UCLA, Arizona State, Cal, Oregon State, Fresno State and Colorado.
What is Carr looking for in a college?
"I am looking for a school that has a good atmosphere and where I feel comfortable," Carr said. "It also goes without saying that I want to go to a school and get a good education."
