WR Pommells favors two

Paterson (N.J.) Paterson Catholic wide receiver/safety Kitt Pommells has two favorites, with a few other schools also high on his list. When will he decide?
"Right now Kitt favors Virginia but his mother favors Syracuse," said Paterson Catholic head coach Benjie Wimberly. "He and his mom have been to both places, but they got to spend a lot more time at Syracuse. She really likes the coaches there and the academics. He's going to head back to Virginia with her sometime this month or in early August and see how they compare."

Pommells, a 6-foot-1, 200-pounder with great speed and athletic ability, was supposed to camp at Virginia but changed plans.
"He camped at UConn and liked it there," said Wimberly. "He was impressed with the coaching staff, but he still likes Virginia a bit better. He also likes Syracuse too, so it will be interesting to see where he goes. He's also mentioned seeing Iowa before the end of the summer and possible official visits to Maryland, Pitt and others.
"I thought he wanted to decide early because Kitt doesn't like all the attention, but he wants to be sure," said Wimberly. "If he needs to take officials, he will."
Pommells had 48 catches for 620 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior on offense and made 80 tackles with three interceptions on defense. Most schools are recruiting him as a safety although Syracuse said he could play either wideout or safety.
