WR Payne up to four offers

Wide receiver Lynell Payne is holding four scholarship offers now. The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder out of Marlton (N.J.) Cherokee claims ones from the ACC and Big East amongst others.
"In the past couple weeks my latest offers are from Temple and Delaware," he said. "I also have ones from Clemson and Connecticut.

"Right now I'm looking at camps and planning to go to Clemson's, Delaware and Syracuse."
Two schools that haven't offered, but are showing interest are Rutgers and Syracuse.
"They are talking about my grades and if I bring them up a bit I should be able to get an offer, so I'm working on that."
With numerous schools interested, does Payne have a favorite?
"I guess the favorites from what I know are Clemson, Iowa, Connecticut and Rutgers," he said. "Clemson has a nice campus from what I've noticed and they are a really good school. Iowa I get a lot of letters from and the coach actually knows my mom personally. I text message with them a lot too.
"AS for Connecticut, I really like their campus from what I've seen. Then, Rutgers is right here and it would be fun to play in my home state. I also like my new recruiting coach from Rutgers."
Obviously the Jersey wideout is still very open though, what does he want in a college?
"I'm looking for a place I'm going to play," he said. "I'll be looking at how soon I can get on the field and how I get along with the coaching staff and their coaching style. I also want to go to a team that throws the ball. I don't want somewhere that is run-oriented and then of course I want a place I'm going to graduate and somewhere that'll support me through on my way. It would be nice to be closer to home too, but I've got to do what I got to do."
This weekend Payne is finishing up track season as he has qualified for the state in the high jump.
