WR Payne narrowing his list

Marlton (N.J.) Cherokee wide receiver Lynell Payne appears to be quickly narrowing things down. The 6-foot-2, 203-pounder is focused on three schools at this time from the Big East and ACC.
"It's mainly between Clemson and Cincinnati," he said. "Both of them have offered and have been showing me a lot of interest. Right behind them is Connecticut. I think it's basically down to those schools."

What is the draw of the three for the two-star prospect?
"I like Clemson's academic program," he said. "I actually talked to their coach the other day and he told me how their graduation rate is in the 90's under coach Bowden. I also like the possibility of walking down that hill and then orange is my favorite color and that's our school colors. It's a nice bonus they are in the ACC too. They have top notch schools there.
"I like that Cincinnati runs the four receiver offense. That's a wide receiver school and they throw the ball a lot.
"Finally, what I like about Connecticut are the coaches. The coaches there are honest about everything. I found that out by talking to the players alone. They told me the exact same thing that the coaches did, nothing was rehearsed."
While Payne looks to be trimming his list, he is not close to a decision?
"I don't think I'm going to take any summer visits," he said. "More than likely I'll take officials to those schools before I make a decision."
