WR not rushing the process

Dallas (Texas) South Oak Cliff wide receiver Lendy Holmes is not in a rush to make a college decision.

"Things have slowed down now that summer is here," the 6-foot-2, 180-pound Holmes said. "Schools can't call and there isn't a really big rush or anything to jump into. So I'm just kind of taking my time with everything involved with this process."
The schools aren't backing away from Holmes.
"It's still all of the same schools," he said. "All of the same offers are on the table for me. I get mail from a lot of schools and nobody has indicated anything about an offer being taken away or anything."
Teams at the top of Holmes’ include Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Colorado and Arizona. Scholarship offers have come from all but Arizona.
Despite the Longhorns' recent commitments from four wide receivers, Holmes still has interest in Mack Brown's program.
"You need receivers," he said. "They've got commitments from four of them, but it isn't a big deal. They have a lot of openings after this year when those guys all are done. So the need is there and the coaches know it. That is why they are recruiting so many receivers."
The Aggies' potential new offense could cause Holmes to look hard at Dennis Franchione's ball club.
"If they come through with the wide open offense they have talked about, then that would be appealing. The talk of throwing the ball all around is good to hear if you are a receiver."
Don't look for an early decision from Holmes in the recruiting process, though.
"I will take some visits," he said. "Possibly, I'll take all five. I don't have it set yet in my mind, but I want to make sure I'm choosing the right place."
