WR Mines ready to decide

Richmond (Va.) Hermitage wide receiver Fontel Mines took his second and possibly final official visit this weekend.
"I really had a good time at Virginia Tech," said the 6-foot-5, 210-pound wideout. "I was hosted by Noland Burchette and Ernest Wilford and I spent most of my time with the team. The coaches wanted us (he was with teammate Duane Brown, a top tight end) to get to know the team for the most part."

Mines, who had already visited Virginia with Brown, spoke to the coaching staff about their passing game.
"They're really excited about Marcus Vick and what he can do for their passing attack," he said. "He was very down-to-earth and he felt than me and Ernest could be a great combo next year."
Mines, who had been favoring UVA slightly heading into the visit, will now wait and think about a decision.
"I'm going to let things settle in and then decide," he said. "Maybe in a week or a couple of weeks I'll make my choice."
And are he and Brown a package deal?
"We're going to choose the school we each like best," he said. "If it's the same one, then that's great."
