WR Lang visits UConn

Largo, Fla. Wide receiver Mike Lang took a trip north to Connecticut over the weekend. The 6-foot-0, 180-pounder enjoyed his time in Storrs. What is next for him?
"It was a real nice visit, real nice," he stated. "The facilities are great, as are the coaches, players and academics. Everything is good and they look good right now.

"I got there and toured the campus a bit and then had dinner. On Saturday the recruiting started and I went and saw academic advisors, went to the basketball game against Seton Hall, toured the facilities, weight room and football field and that was about it."
It was cold in New England. How did Lang handle it?
"Actually it was much nicer than I thought," he said. "It was snowing, but there was no wind. I enjoyed that."
Lang was hosted on the trip by Marcus Easley.
"He was a walk-on wide receiver and told me about the wide receivers coach," he said. "It was nice to meet him. He talked about how the coaches don't care about redshirting, I liked hearing that because playing time is big for me. I want to play as early as possible. They let me know I can do that at UConn."
Of course, Lang spent time with the coaches as well.
"I met with the wide receiver's coach and we watched film," he said. "He talked to me about the things they are trying to do and packages. He also talked about the quarterback position and where I fit in.
"I also met with Coach Edsall. He's a wonderful coach. He's there for his players and there for Connecticut as a whole. He's a great man. I like Coach Edsall a lot."
The trip was a good one for the two-star prospect. What is next?
"I'm not totally sure, but it's 99% that I'll be at Iowa state this week," he said. "Then I'll probably be going to Florida Atlantic on January 30th.
"I'm just trying to get information on these visits to compare the schools and make the best choice for me."
Lang confirmed he is down to the four schools he's visiting, Connecticut, Iowa State, South Florida and Florida Atlantic. He plans to decide on Signing Day.
