WR jumps on Crimson Tide offer

St. Augustine (Fla.) Nease receiver Will Oakley is leading his class in receiving with 48 catches for 870 yards. It’s those type of stats, along with his 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame that prompted Alabama to offer him a scholarship. And it was an offer he could not refuse.
“I got a call last night from Alabama and they offered me a scholarship,” he said. “I committed right there on the spot. I talked a minute with the receiver’s coach and then I got to talk to coach Shula. He was very excited and made the offer to me.”

And it was one that he couldn’t refuse.
“There is a lot of history there for me,” Oakley said.
“My father played baseball at Alabama, so it was a really good fit for me. I get to play SEC football. It doesn’t get any better than that.”
