WR James enjoys junior day event

Chicago (Ill.) junior wide receiver prospect Chris James (6-foot-1, 185 pounds) from Morgan Park High School was one of several in-state prospects in attendance at the Chicago Junior Media Day last Saturday.
"I just wanted to thank everyone at for putting on the Junior Media Day event," James said. "My teammates and I really appreciated that event and it was definitely a worthwhile event to attend."
James, who has an offer from Illinois, talked about what stood out to him from the Junior Day.
"It was great to just get a chance to get to know some of the other prospects from across the state. I really had a great talk with Marques Wilkins from Decatur MacArthur, and I also met a ton of other players. I also liked the coach's talk about the recruiting process, and I'm definitely going to evaluate each college better. Overall it was just a fun event."
James has also continued to attract increased college recruiting attention over the last few weeks.
"I've been getting tape requests from Ohio State, Iowa, Michigan State and Northern Illinois. Each school has started to send more and more mail, and I'm going to check out what each school has to offer at this point."
James also is planning to make spring unofficial visits to several schools.
"I'm hoping to be able to get out and check out several spring practices, and right now I'm planning to visit Iowa, NIU, Northwestern, Illinois and Notre Dame this spring."
