Chicago (Ill.) junior wide receiver prospect Chris James (6-foot-1, 185 pounds) from Morgan Park High School has added two more scholarship offers over the last few days.
"I have two more offers from Louisville and Toledo," James said. "Louisville offered me about a week or so ago, and Toledo offered me a scholarship on Friday."
James, who now is has early scholarship offers from Louisville, Toledo, Minnesota, Illinois, Kansas and Northern Illinois talked about landing his latest offer from the Cardinals and the Rockets.
"Louisville seems like a program that has been on the rise, and they seem really excited about me. I need to learn more about Louisville but I'm definitely excited about getting an offer from them."
"Toledo definitely likes to put the ball in the air, and as a receiver that's a really good thing. Toledo has a good program and has had a lot of success over the years. My former teammate Lester (Richmond) is always trying to sell me on Toledo, and that's cool. I also like the MAC conference and several players have made the NFL out of the MAC."
James also made an unofficial visit to the University of Illinois last Friday.
"My visit to Illinois was great. It just seems that the overall atmosphere down in Champaign gets better and better every time I visit Illinois. Illinois also just feels like home more and more. I just really enjoy the coaches and the players at Illinois."
So could we see an early verbal commitment from James?
"I definitely want to make my final college choice before the start of my senior season. I want to have it all over with before things get serious for me on the field this fall."
