Belle Glade (Fla.) Glades Central wide receiver Santonio Holmes has 12 offers by his last count, some of them from major football programs. However, he’s waiting on one of football’s elite programs to offer before he commits.
“I really want to go to Miami,” said the 5-foot-11, 170-pounder. “They’re program is awesome and if they offer I’d commit on the spot.”
However, the Hurricanes already have three wide receivers in the fold and might not be looking for a fourth that isn’t named Ryan Moore. With that in mind, Holmes is looking at other options as well.
“I’m going to Illinois on December 14th,” he said. “I’m also thinking about going to Ohio State, Michigan State, Purdue, NC State and maybe somewhere else. I can do Miami unofficially.”
Holmes has led his team to a 6-0 record this season, but claims his play is only “average” so far.
“I have 13 catches for 434 yards and eight touchdowns,” he said. “I’m on a pace better than last season for touchdowns, but I can play better.”
