WR Hints At Leader

Richmond (Va.) Hermitage wide receiver Fontel Mines doesn't want to name a leader, but if you listen to him talk it's clear he has one.
"Right now it's basically three teams," said the 6-foot-5, 210-pounder. "Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest to a lesser extent. I have visits set up with all three, but I might only need two of them."

Mines is set to visit Virginia on Nov. 15 and Virginia Tech on Nov. 29. If he needs the trip, he has Wake Forest on Dec. 6.
"I'll probably decide at the end of November," he said. "I really like Virginia and Virginia Tech the best. I'm more comfortable with those coaches."
Mines likes each school for a different reason, but seems to favor one over the other based on his comments.
Virginia -- "Well, Coach Groh and I have a good relationship. I like their style of offense better as well, it's more of a open offense, a lot more passing. I plan on majoring in Sports Medicine, and UVA supposedly has one of the top school for Sports Medicine majors. They have a good academic program there."
Virginia Tech -- "Tech is kind of far, but I like their campus. I haven't been for a game yet, but I hear it gets crazy there. They're more of a running team though. They run the option and aren't a real pro-style team."
Mines' Hermitage team will likely face Thomas Dale in the first round of the playoffs. Mines is still trying to get to Virginia Tech for an unofficial visit this weekend, which could speed things up even further.
