WR Deffner has big favorite

Greenwood (Ind.) Center Grove defensive back Mitch Deffner had a difficult sophomore year. Due to double shoulder surgery he missed the entire football season. However Deffner came back healthy his junior season and started at cornerback, recording two interceptions.
However the 6-foot-4 and 195-pounder will likely move to safety in college.

"The letters I've been getting are for safety," Deffner said. "Indiana sent some letters. Iowa has sent some. And Ball State too.
"The letters talk about their programs, their coaching staff, but nothing about scholarships."
Deffner hopes eventually talk does turn to scholarships.
"I'm just looking to see what scholarships might get offered," he said.
In particular, Deffner would like to play for the Indiana Hoosiers.
"I'd love the chance to play at IU," he said. "If I had the chance I'd love to play there. I've always been a Hoosier fan."
