WR Clemons takes in junior day

Wide receiver Toney Clemons out of New Kensington (Pa.) Valley has received four scholarship offers to date. The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder just got back from a junior day to one of them and really enjoyed it.
"I took a visit recently to Akron's junior day and it was really nice," he said. "It felt really good to check them out and they treated me really well. I liked how nice the facilities and campus was there and the whole coaching staff was really friendly."

Besides Akron, Clemons holds scholarships from Connecticut, Ole Miss and Pittsburgh.
Clemons continues to receive lots of mail from schools across the country.
"I'm getting a lot of mail from Texas A&M, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, North Carolina State, Penn State, Clemson, Kansas State and plenty of others," he said. "I'm really wide open to everyone at this time. It's really hard to even try to come up with a list of favorites."
One school in particular could make a strong push for the wide receiver prospect though.
"I grew up a big fan of Michigan and I still am one," he said. "I really like the tradition they have there. Growing up my brother liked them and I've liked them a lot too. I could definitely see that playing into my decision if it's on the table. Of course I'd have to look at other aspects of the school as well, but it definitely is an interesting thought to be able to play for my dream school."
Last season Clemons hauled in 39 receptions for 666 yards and 13 total touchdowns. He went on to be named to the Fabulous 22 team and all-conference.
Meanwhile, Clemons is keeping busy running track and hopes to be able to participate in that on the next level too.
"I'm actually getting recruited for track from a few schools and I'd love to be able to do it in college because I like to run," he said. "It keeps you in shape and really helps keeping my speed down when I'm working out and doing weights."
This spring the wide receiver prospect plans to attend the Metro Index, MSL and Adidas combines.
