WR Brown to try out football at Louisville

Back in October, two-star wide receiver Shaquan Brown out of Paterson (N.J.) John F. Kennedy committed to Louisville's track team over football scholarships at Nebraska and Wisconsin. At the time, the 6-foot-2, 169-pounder wasn't considering playing football, but now things appear to have changed.
"I'm still going to Louisville on a track scholarship and I plan to compete for the Big East Championship in that this year," he said. "I'm also going to redshirt my freshman year for football and then try out for team as a sophomore. The track coaches have talked to the football coaches about this arrangement and everyone is very cool with it. If I switch over to football they will then transfer my scholarship.

"I'm excited to give it a shot. I at least want to give myself a chance at football for a program like that."
What made Brown choose Louisville?
"Really it was the town itself and the people," he said. "I like all of their athletic programs, especially track and football and then the coaches for both are very good. I especially liked the hurdles coach. Finally, I think the whole program is going in a good direction and unlike some other schools they are up and coming."
Brown is rated the No. 33 player in New Jersey.
