WR Boykin starts to get noticed

Catching balls from Matt Simms last year certainly has helped wide receiver Brandon Boykin out of Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep get noticed. The 6-foot-1, 177-pounder pulled in 25 catches for 410 yards and three touchdowns as a junior.
"Brandon is a real good player that I think we'll see a lot of good things from this year," Don Bosco Prep assistant Nunzio Campanile said. "He had a breakout year for us last season and should be our primary target next year. He has great hands, runs good routes, is fast and is a student of the game.

"He has a knack for making big plays and had a lot of big catches for us last season. Hopefully he'll work on being more consistent to become one of those guys everyone is looking at."
Currently Boykin is receiving interest from quite a few schools including Maryland, Temple, Boston College, Rutgers, Virginia, Iowa, North Carolina and more. Does he have any favorites?
"I think it is too early to tell if he has any favorites because he hasn't gotten a lot of serious interest yet," he said. "I think once this spring passes a lot of teams are going to see he is a good player and start picking up interest in him. He'll be a guy on the radar by this summer I think."
The wide receiver prospect is also a baseball recruit.
"I know he is getting recruited for baseball and has been on varsity since his freshman year," he said. "After a great junior season in football, I think he is still a little up in the air as to which sport he may choose to play in college."
This spring Boykin is considering heading to the Elite College Combine if it doesn't interfere with his baseball schedule.
