WR Barr on the verge of more offers

Wide receiver Martize Barr out of Washington (D.C.) Coolidge believes he is on the verge of more offers. The 5-foot-11, 182-pounder has three new schools taking a hard look at him.
"I'm getting a lot of attention from other schools outside of my offers, Rutgers, Kansas and New Mexico," he stated. "Iowa, Tennessee and Missouri have called about me. Between them I think Iowa is closest to offering.

"They basically said they would love to have me in their offense because I fit their style of play. I was talking to one of their coaches who came to see me four weeks ago. They have a lot of receivers leaving and he said I am a Big Ten style receiver."
So far, Barr hasn't visited any schools to date, but plans to at the end of the season.
Does he favor anybody?
"I actually like Rutgers if I had to chose right now and then Kansas," he said. "I like Rutgers because I actually have a relationship with Tom Savage. I learned a lot about him at a camp my tenth grade year. We were throwing passes and talking. I also think I fit their style of play.
"As for Kansas, we run a spread offense that is the same as them. I think I could play in the Big 12 at the slot and do some big things down there. They have a lot of receivers leaving too. If I work hard I can get in there and play."
Meanwhile, on the season Barr has helped his team in a position to potentially make the playoffs.
"If we win this week against Dunbar we'll make it to the playoffs," he said. "They are a big-time opponent and in my four years we have never beaten them. We've got to beat them to get into the playoffs.
"I've been doing well too though. I'm fifth in the whole area in receiving yards with 42 receptions for 685-yards and seven touchdowns. I also have two punt returns for touchdowns. I think I've got a little more shake this year, especially in the open field. I'm also harder to bring down, faster and way more physical."
