WR Barr makes a decision

Washington (D.C.) Coolidge wide receiver Martize Barr has come to a decision. The 5-foot-11, 182-pounder made his pledge last week and has decided to head West.
"I committed on Tuesday of last week to New Mexico," he said. "I took my official there a week ago and everything was nice down there. I liked all the coaches. Coach Locksley made me feel at home. He's from basically where I'm from and knows what I've been through.

"The receivers coach and players made me feel at home. Those were the big things I was looking for in picking a school. I felt at home."
One other factor was key as well, the chance to play early.
"I have a good shot of playing early and that was another big thing about me, choosing a school to play early," he said. "They haven't guaranteed it, but if I go down there and show I can play I'll be playing.
"I'm really trying to put my stamp on a school. I want to help build them up to become what it is."
Overall the two-star prospect is excited about his choice.
"I know I picked a school I'm most comfortable with. I like my decision and look out for New Mexico the next couple years."
Barr posted offers from Rutgers and Kansas as well.
