WR backing off Pitt lean

Late last month Dade City (Fla.) Pasco three-star receiver John Peyton said he was on the verge of committing to Pittsburgh but now it looks like the nation’s No. 44 receiver is cooling on that thought.
“I’m not going to commit anywhere yet,” Peyton, who is 6-foot-4 and 179 pounds, said. “I still want to take my time and see what happens.”

What is happening is that Peyton’s family wants him to stay a little bit closer to home, which is why teams like Florida and LSU are also high on his list. Those were the only other teams he mentioned to Rivals100 that he was interested in, but previously he reported also having offers from Auburn, Georgia Tech, North Carolina to go along with the offers from Pitt and LSU.
“I’m kind of more focused on my season now,” Peyton said.
“We start practice the first day of school on August 11. That’s not too far away. I’ve been working hard this summer on jumping up and getting the ball while it’s higher up in the air. With my size, the coaches said they’re going to throw me some more jump balls.”
