Wooten wants to play early on

Hialeah (Fla.) linebacker Gary Wooten has become a popular target since his senior season concluded. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound outside linebacker has quickly seen his offer list fill up.
"I have gotten a few offers lately," Wooten said. "Some of my offers are FIU, FAU, New Mexico, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Bowling Green, Washington State, UMass, and Vanderbilt - that is it right now."

At this time, Wooten plans to take three visits.
"I am going to visit UMass, FIU, and Vanderbilt," Wooten said. "FIU is on the 21st, UMass will either be the 14th or the 28th, and then Vanderbilt will be the other date (that UMass isn't)."
While he says he doesn't know much about Massachusetts or Vanderbilt, he admits that he knows a decent amount about nearby Florida International - his current leader.
"I know a bit about them because they are a local school," Wooten said. "I know they play their best players. You have a chance to compete, start, and show what you have got. The coaches are real fair there. I know that they are putting together a good program."
When it comes time for Wooten to decide, he said his primary objective is finding a school where he will have the opportunity to see the field early on in his career.
"I am really looking for a place that I have a chance to play early," Wooten said. "I am looking at how many linebackers they have. I don't want to go somewhere that is stacked with linebackers."
Wooten is scheduled to take the SAT on Jan. 22nd.
