Woods makes for an intriguing prospect

Linebacker/defensive tackle/fullback Walter Woods (6-0, 270, 4.9) from Palmdale, Calif., is a very intriguing prospect. He could end up at several positions on the D-I level.
Woods earned second-team all-CIF, first-team all-area and first-team all-league as a junior after accounting for 110 tackles, two batted down passes, two fumble recoveries and one sack.

Woods would like to attend camps, but there could be scheduling conflicts.
"I'm supposed to go USC's camp, but there may be a conflict with my football team" Woods said. "We have a passing league tournament at San Diego State. That's really it right now for camps."
On the recruiting front Arizona, USC, Washington, San Diego State, Hawai'i, and Weber State were by Palmdale High this spring to check Woods out.
"San Diego State has been the most consistent school that is recruiting me," Woods said. "I like the San Diego State campus and its scenery. There are a couple players from Palmdale High who are currently on the team, but I am very open regarding the recruiting process.
"I am interested in all schools," Woods said. "But I am more interested in the schools that are showing interest in me."
What is Woods looking for in a college?
"I want to go into social work so a school that has the right courses in that profession will be very important to me," Woods said. "I want to work with teenagers who need some help and someone to talk to.
"As far as football, I want to go to a college with a good program," Woods said. "I'm not looking to start right away unless it is in the best interest of the team. I want to take my time and learn first.
Woods has outstanding lower body strength with his 500 pound squat. He also benches 245 and power cleans 250.
