Since his serious knee injury, Tampa (Fla.) Jefferson offensive lineman Donnie Woods has been carefully gauging each team's interest in him.
"A few teams backed off and others started talking about some different options so I didn't want to be a part of that," said the 6-foot-4, 290-pounder who blew out his ACL in late October. "I only want to go where I'm wanted."
Right now that looks like North Carolina, although Woods also has a visit with South Florida (Dec. 6) and three teams fighting for his last trip on Dec. 13.
"I'm still enrolling somewhere in January, so Dec. 13 will be my last," he said. "Right now Florida State, Oregon State and San Diego State are fighting over it."
How big a lead to the Tar Heels have?
"I don't know because I still have two visits left," he said. "But I like the offensive line coach and coach Bunting as well as the academics at UNC so it's a good fit."
