Woods focused on visits

This juncture is all about planning visits for four-star defensive end Jordan Woods.
He's not rushing into naming a frontrunner or even naming schools of interest. Instead, he's bust attempting to find time to tour college campuses. The Ocala (Fla.) Trinity Catholic prospect is yet to schedule specific dates, but he has plenty of trips in mind. The specifics are currently shaking out.

"I'm thinking about visiting Miami and Florida State sometime soon," Woods said on Monday. "I also want to visit Georgia Tech and Louisville for sure. My brother is graduating from an ROTC program, and one of his awards is in Kentucky, so I'm probably going to hit Kentucky and Louisville while I'm there. After that, I'm going to hit Georgia Tech, Florida and Florida State."
For Woods, Florida is the local school and the campus with which he is most familiar. He's visited often and feels comfortable with the coaching staff. Still, if the Gators are the slight favorite, he's certainly not admitting it.
"It's too early," Woods said. "Nobody is really that high above anybody else. Even if tomorrow was signing day, it wouldn't be safe for any school to say 'Jordan is coming.'"
But while Woods stays away from naming anything resembling a leader, he doesn't mind discussing which schools are in most frequent contact. Not every coaching staff's effort is equal. That much is already clear.
"I just got off the phone with Miami just now," Woods said on Monday afternoon "Florida, Florida State, Miami and Georgia Tech are the ones that recruit the hardest."
Woods plans to wait until after he takes his official visits before making a verbal commitment. For the time being, he's more concerned with finding five destinations for in-season official visits.
"I live 30 minutes from Florida, so I might or might not take an official there," Woods said. "I've been there so may times, so I might use that one to go to a far-out school that I don't even want to go to. Maybe I just want to go because it's a beautiful city or something."
