Woods busy on the phone

Strongsville, Ohio, receiver D.J. Woods has been a busy man the past few weeks. Along with continuing to work hard on track and preparing for his senior season, his phone has been getting a serious workout, too.
Woods, who is 6-foot and 169 pounds, said he's already received four calls from some high profile schools.

"I got a phone call from Iowa," he said. "I also got a call from Ohio State. I got a call from Michigan and I got a call from Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh said they're going to offer me after they see me do a few drills. The last junior days I've been to were the ones at Pittsburgh and Michigan."
Woods said at this point he's open. With offers on the table early on from Miami of Ohio and Eastern Michigan and interest from those mentioned earlier and Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Virginia and others, he's going to have plenty of options to consider.
"I don't really have any top schools right now," he said.
"All I want is to play D-I football and start. Honestly I don't care what record they were. I just want to go to a school and just play. I'd like to stay close to my family so they can come out and watch my games. It's important to them to be able to watch my games. But I'm going to wait as long as I can so I can pick up some more offers. I'll probably make my decision during my football season or right after."
Woods said he's working hard to become a better player for his team. After racking up 750 yards receiving and eight touchdowns in 2006, he has lofty goals for 2007.
"I want to break every school record that we have at the school right now," he said. "Especially the most reception yards. Also I want to go to state."
