Poway (Calif.) defensive lineman Nick Wood has taken three official visits thus far in the recruiting process and recently set visit No. 4 later this month. The tackle prospect also told us he's starting to hear from one of the nation's true heavyweight programs.
Wood, 6-2, 275 pounds is one of the top defensive tackle prospects in the West region. He's an incredibly strong player and his 50 reps on the bench at the SoCal NIKE Camp were the most by any player on the NIKE camp circuit this past summer.
Wood has already officially visited Boston College, Arizona State, Colorado and will stay out west for his next visit.
"I'm going to Washington (Nov. 10)," Wood said. "I've also been talking with Notre Dame and they're reviewing my senior film right now. I'm not sure if they're going to offer me or not but it's safe to say if they do, I'll definitely be taking my final official visit out there.
"If it doesn't work out with Notre Dame, I'm also still looking at Wake Forest and North Carolina State. I'll definitely be taking all five of my trips and then should be ready to make a decision following my last visit."
