Womble names new favorite after visit

Sierra Vista (Ariz.) Buena running back Jamal Womble took his second official visit of the year to check out North Carolina this past weekend. The talented back said he still wants to take his last three visits but it sounds like the Tar Heels will be tough to beat.
Womble, 5-11, 220 is arguably the top power back in the West this year. He's having a very good senior season and establishing himself as one of the state's premier prospects regardless of position.

The running back has already visited Boston College but said the trip to Chapel Hill was his best so far.
"I loved it there, UNC is my clear leader right now," Womble said. "The atmosphere was there was incredible and everything just felt right. I can't really explain it but I just got that special feeling while I was there, like I could tell this could be the place for me.
"I still want to take my visits, just to make sure I'm doing the right thing but I know it's going to take a lot to beat out UNC. I really like the players and coaches there, the opportunity to play early is there and I love the city and campus itself as well. Coach Davis really made me feel wanted and that was important to me.
"Greg Little was my host and I met a lot of players from the team and got along great with all of them. Honestly, there really wasn't a single negative about the visit. My next visit will be to Wisconsin and then South Carolina. I'm also working out a date with Nebraska. When I'm done with my visits, that's when I'll be ready to make my decision."
