Wolverines keep rolling, land Rivals100 LB Drew Singleton

Another day, another major commitment for Michigan. A day after the commitment of five-star linebacker Jordan Anthony, Rivals100 linebacker Drew Singleton announced his commitment to Michigan. The Paramus (N.J.) Paramus Catholic star, who had been leaning towards the Wolverines for some time, listed Alabama, Michigan State, Clemson, and Pittsburgh as the other finalists.

IN HIS OWN WORDS...

"It was the best choice for my family and me," Singleton said. "I see a whole bunch of opportunities at Michigan on and off the field. On the field, I feel like I will learn from the best and be coached by the best to become the best player I could possibly become.

"I’m very close with the guys up there," he said. "I talk to them from time to time. We used to all hang out when they were here in high school.

"I see a lot of amazing opportunities up there off the field," said Singleton. "There are a lot relationships I can make that will benefit me in the future after football. They have a strong alumni base, a lot of connections, and all the tools I can use to become the greatest man I can be."

On having Chris Partridge, his former high school coach, be his position coach in college: "It’s obviously a really good feeling because I’ll know my position coach personally," he said. "Honestly, I really love the school for itself. Coach Partridge is just a bonus. It definitely gives me a warm feeling and a comfort knowing that I know my position coach personally since I started playing high school football."

RIVALS' REACTION

Michigan is on an incredible run in December. Seven commitments, with two five-stars, four four-stars and one three-star. Singleton playing next to Anthony will help Michigan have one of the most formidable linebacking corps in the nation. Singleton's commitment to Michigan wasn't shocking. Clemson was the other major contender, but the Tigers really started fading late in the summer.
