Wolfpack Continue To Roll

The NC State coaching staff is working overtime this spring and have landed their seventh oral commitment of the young recruiting season.
"Ernest Jones committed to NC State today," said Southern Vance head coack Mark Perry. "They offered him this morning and it didn't take him long to decide. He really liked it there."

Jones, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound linebacker from Henderson (N.C.) Southern Vance chose the Wolfpack over Penn State, North Carolina, UCLA, Wake Forest and East Carolina. He is the second Southern Vance player (Chris Hawkins is the other) to commit to NC State in the past week.
"Ernest has relentless pursuit and runs very well from sideline to sideline," said Perry. "He also plays safety for us on passing downs so he's excellent in coverage as well. He could play strong or weak-side linebacker in college."
Jones is one of the top prospects in North Carolina this year.
"Last season Ernest had 110 tackles, four fumble recoveries, two intereceptions and two blocked kicks," said Perry. "Heck, he even scored two touchdowns on fake field goal attempts."
Jones runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds.
