Wolford aims high for 2015

Meeker (Okla.) 2017 offensive lineman Adrian Wolford stands tall at 6-foot-5 and 270-pounds, and as the 2015 football season approaches he has some big time goals.
The aspirations are to be one of the best in Oklahoma 3A and to make a run at a state championship. With lofty goals for the season comes hard work in the offseason.

"I've put in a lot of work over the summer," Wolford said. "Me and my line we work out all the time. We're just working, working, working, and trying to be great. We just run and pull ties up and down the football field and lift weights."
Wolford has one specific goal set for himself. It does not include the words "championship" or "ranking" or "ring". It is simple, yet accomplishing it would play a huge part in helping his team reach their ultimate goals.
"I'm working on being in the shape to be able to go as hard as I can every play of the game," Wolford said.
His attitude has caught the attention of college coaches. Interest has arrived from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Tulsa, but one team seems to be showing the most interest right now.
"The only school that shows big interest right now is OU," Wolford said. "I get invited to their practices and get letters and stuff like that."
He has been keeping in touch with Oklahoma offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh and he has already began to establish a solid bond with the Sooner coach.
He camped in Norman this summer, and has taken a few trips to the Oklahoma campus. A few things about his visits have stood out.
I went to the Red and White game. It was like an unofficial visit and I walked around," Wolford said. "It was nice. Like when I would go up there all the players like knew me and it was just weird. Last year, I was watching them on TV and now I'm talking to them. It was cool. It was different."
He plans to take as many unofficial visits as he can during the season. He also attended camps at Oklahoma State and Tulsa over the summer.
