Wolford adds Navy offer

On Monday, Jacksonville (Fla.) Bishop Kenny linebacker Bobby Wolford added an offer from the Naval Academy.
"I was really excited about it," Wolford said. "It is really cool that Navy offered."

Wolford spoke with Navy assistant coach Ivin Jasper today about the offer.
"They told me that they favored bigger linebackers at the school," Wolford said. "They like that I am 225 pounds. They said that I would have a place to play on the field for them. They also said with my grades and all of that, that I would be a perfect fit there. They also told me that they don't usually offer kids this early but that they were going to offer me."
Navy joins Princeton and Harvard in offering the 6-foot-3, 225-pound prospect.
In addition to his offers, Wolford is also receiving a lot of interest from a number of schools and believes more offers are on the way.
"I think Furman and definitely Boston College, Boston College is on the verge," Wolford said. "I really like them (Boston College) a lot. I am supposed to call them tonight and I think they are going to offer too."
Other schools showing interest include Arkansas, Boise State, Cincinnati, Duke, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ole Miss, Purdue, SMU, Stanford, Syracuse, Tulsa, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, and others. Most are looking at Wolford as a linebacker, likely inside linebacker, but some, such as Arkansas, like him at tight end, while others project him as a fullback.
This summer he plans to further sort through his list and work towards more offers while taking some visits.
"I haven't really figured it out yet but I imagine I will definitely be heading to Boston College, SMU, Vanderbilt, and obviously Navy," Wolford said. "Those are the four I have decided to go to so far. There are going to be others I am going to go to."
When it comes time to decide, he knows what is going to help him separate one school from the pack.
"The number one thing is playing time," Wolford said. "I really want to play early on. That is ultimately the number one thing that will be a deciding factor."
Bishop Kenny wraps up their spring in two weeks when they face off against St. Augustine (Fla.) in their spring game.
