Wohlabaugh checks out BC

Cuyahoga Falls (Ohio) Walsh Jesuit offensive guard Jack Wohlabaugh is well-traveled this spring. His latest visit took him out to see Boston College.
"Just this past weekend I was at Boston College," Wohlabaugh said. "They were supposed to have their spring game this weekend, but it got moved up to earlier. I still decided to go there with my dad."

The Eagles are one of 13 schools that have offered the 6-foot-4, 274-pound Wohlabaugh and he came out of the visit with a comfort about his relationships at the program.
"I thought the coaching staff was very relatable," Wohlabaugh said. "Me and my dad talked to Coach (Steve) Addazio I'd say for a good 30 minutes just on everything. He seems very passionate as a coach. Coach (Justin) Frye watched film for over two hours with me and my dad. It was just intense. He was showing kick-steps and where they were going on certain plays.
"Their strength coach went to Walsh Jesuit, so it was easy to relate to him. Then, their kicker Mike Knoll went to Walsh, so it's nice knowing some people up there."
While Wohlabaugh had a base of knowledge about Boston College before the visit, his time on campus gave him a more personal connection to the program.
"I got to know a lot about the school, the campus and what they expect academically, so that was really nice," Wohlabaugh said. "I always have had them ranked pretty high in my mind, but going out there, seeing them and meeting all the coaches, it just kind of increased my relationship. Seeing the school and trying to picture myself if I went there is really nice to do."
Wohlabaugh does not have any future visits set in stone, but he is considering attending Ohio State's spring game this weekend. The Buckeyes have yet to offer, but communication between Wohlabaugh and their staff has been regular over the last few weeks.
"I talk to Coach (Ed) Warinner on the phone probably once or twice a week. He messages me probably every other day," Wohlabaugh said. "I've been talking to Coach (Mark) Pantoni, getting to know each other and telling him what's up."
Other visits this spring have been taken to Michigan and Michigan State. Having seen several of the schools recruiting him, Wohlabaugh is working to identify favorites.
"I'd say now that I've visited a lot of places, I think I could probably start narrowing it down and making more of a list with the schools that have offered me," Wohlabaugh said. "I'd love to get (a decision) done soon, but I don't want to rush into anything and make a decision I would regret later. I want to be 100 percent strong in my commitment, so I want to make sure it's right."
