Wise has two favorites

Alpharetta, Ga. offensive center DeAndre Wise has picked up a few more offers. The 6-foot-1, 260-pounder believes he's on the verge of at least a couple more and says two schools stick out at this time.
"I have offers from South Alabama and some I-AAs, Texas Southern, Alabama State, Coastal Carolina and UT-Chattanooga," he said. "I should be hearing something from UAB about an offer on Monday. I'm looking at Troy hard too. They are expected to offer when I come to camp on Monday there."

Wise made it no secret that UAB and Troy were at the top of his list.
"The schools I'm most looking hard at are UAB and Troy. UAB just got Coach McGee from Arkansas," he said. "Their program is on the rise and great things are happening. I could see the field early too. Troy is losing a center this year and there is a chance to start when I get there."
While a lot of recruits are currently hitting the road for camps, Wise is taking a different approach.
"I'm not going to any camps," he said. "The bigger schools tell me to come to camp, but my main focus is on schools that want me."
Wise noted plans to make a decision by the end of the summer.
So, what is he looking for as a selection is quickly approaching?
"My thing is that I don't want to be too far away from home, at least five or six hours," he said. "Playing time is important, I don't want to be the No. 4 center on the roster. I want a chance to be No. 1 or No. 2. I'm also looking at the academics of the school. That's pretty much it."
