With any state it's important to keep opposing schools from stealing players away from your own backyard.

But when it comes to Wisconsin where blue-chip talent is often few and far between it's important for a program like the Wisconsin Badgers to own the state, and looking at the preseason Wisconsin top 10 the Badgers have gotten off to a good start by landing the state's top player offensive lineman Jake Bscherer.
The 6-foot-7, 270-pound Bscherer picked Wisconsin early in the recruiting process, picking the Badgers over offers from Houston and Purdue. If he hadn't of committed back in January, he would have likely been one of the more heavily recruited linemen in the Midwest.
"He's been a varsity starter since the last three games of his freshman season," Rivals.com Midwest recruiting analyst Bill Kurelic said.
"He's got a great frame and the ability to play on both sides of the ball, but with his frame and footwork you can see him easily at offensive tackle."
Not far behind Bscherer is receiver Lance Kendricks of Milwaukee Rufus King. The 6-foot-4, 207-pound Kendricks was the toast of the Los Angeles NIKE Training Camp when he was easily one of the best players in the camp.
"I think it's hard for defensive backs to match up against me," Kendricks said.
"I'm a lot stronger and more physical than what they see every day. I use my upper-body strength to get good separation and then I can turn on the speed and get open almost every time."
Franklin receiver Keven Hagans is ranked as the No. 3 player. He's followed by Monona Grove offensive lineman Gabe Carimi. The 6-foot-7, 268-pound Carimi was one of the better players at the Nebraska summer camp.
