Wisconsin receiver draws first offer

Milwaukee (Wisc.) junior wide receiver prospect Lance Kendricks (6-foot-4, 205 pounds) from Rufus King High School landed his first scholarship offer from the University of Wisconsin last Friday.
"I received my first offer last Friday from Wisconsin," Kendricks said. "The coaches at Wisconsin called my head coach and told him that the Badgers were offering me a scholarship. I'm pretty excited about getting my first offer, especially since it's from the in-state Big Ten school."

Kendricks, who as a junior in 2004 was named both the offensive and defensive player of the year for his team, is planning to fit in a few college junior day events around his indoor track season this winter.
"I'm planning on going to the Notre Dame junior day this coming weekend. I'm also planning to attend a junior day at Wisconsin on March 5th."
Kendricks has also begun to receive recruiting interest and steady mail from across the country this winter.
"I've been getting mail from Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Florida, Texas and Duke the most."
"Right now it's still really early, but I'm looking hard at Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan State, Michigan as well as Florida and Tennessee. Those would be my early favorites but I'm also open to any school at this point."
Kendricks is also a 2-time National AAU triple jump champion.
