Wisconsin picks up No. 13

Erie (Pa.) McDowell athlete A.J. Fenton had a tough choice to make between Pitt and Wisconsin but after thinking it over for another day he's decided to make his decision.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound athlete committed to Wisconsin today, turning down offers from schools like Pitt, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Indiana, Stanford and Syracuse in the process.

"Yes, I committed to Wisconsin," Fenton said on Monday evening. "I think I probably decided over the weekend but I finally did it today. It just really fits with them. The coaches, people and players were great and it just fits well.
"I'm probably going to be done with visits, now."
Fenton has not yet spoken with Coach Bielema, but he did give the news to an assistant coach.
"I didn't actually talk to Coach B, but Coach Rudolph came to practice today and we hung out for a little bit. He was real excited when I told him.
"Basically, it pretty much came down to Wisconsin, Pittsburgh, Illinois and Iowa. I know where I wanted to go, though."
The Wisconsin staff believes Fenton can compete for early playing time when he arrives on campus next summer.
"They said there's definitely an opportunity for me to play," he said. "They're graduating two of their outside linebackers. But if I don't get a chance to play and they want to redshirt me that's okay, too."
Fenton is the 13th commitment for the Badgers in the Class of 2009. He is rated the No. 85 athlete in nation.
