Wisconsin DL could be out for year

Saukville (Wisc.) Port Washington two-star defensive end Chris Prom is ranked as one of the top 10 players in Wisconsin, but a torn left ACL has sidelined him this season.
And at this point it looks like the injury has scared away the colleges for the most part.

"I'm hoping to be able to get back for the playoffs and show them that I'm healthy enough," Prom, who is 6-foot-5 and 235 pounds, said. "If that doesn't work, I hope to show them that in basketball."
Prom said he suffered the injury in the spring while playing basketball.
"I got in the land and it was crowded and I just came down on somebody," Prom said. "It's really disappointing. It's really frustrating to have to watch all the guys on the team."
Prom said at this point he's playing more of a role of a coach and a motivator.
"I'm helping the guys out as much as I can," Prom said. "I can be vocal at times. But the team is doing well without me. We're 3-1 and I think we should have a good chance to win this weekend."
Prom's hoping he'll get a chance to play college football still.
"Western Michigan was talking to me, but they had two guys commit to them at my position, so I guess they're full," he said. "I'm not really hearing from anybody at this point. I'm hoping for somebody to come back in the picture, but I don't know who will."
