"I'll make my official visit to Wisconsin sometime in December," Smith said. "And I'm going to set up visits to Penn State and Michigan.
"Right now I'm still committed to Wisconsin. But I owe it to myself to check out places closer to home."
Smith has already seen the Nittany Lions in person, and plans to do the same with the Wolverines.
"I went to the Purdue-Penn State game," Smith said. "I'm going to the Michigan-Ohio State game. I only went to Wisconsin for a visit in the summer."
The 5-foot-10 and 190-pound Smith rushed fof 1845 yards during his senior season. Smith averaged almost 10 yards per carry and scored 20 times. He has scholarship offers from Wisconsin and Penn State.
Smith is the No. 17 all-purpose running back in the Rivals.com player rankings and the No. 36 prospect in the state of Ohio.
