Winston excited about new offer
Defensive end JaMichael Winston of Prichard (Ala.) Vigor already had a pretty good offer list, but he was particularly excited about the one he got Thursday.
It came from Michigan State.

"I was happy I got that offer," Winston said. "I was surprised they offered. Being from down South, we don't get that many northern schools to come look at us. I didn't expect them to come that far. But they've seen my film and liked it."
Is the affection mutual?
"When I was talking to their coach, he was asking if I was interested and I said, 'Yes sir,' " Winston said. "I like the Big Ten conference. I'm going to try to get up there and visit but I don't know when right now."
According to Winston, he has 14 offers.
"There's no leader," he said. "I have teams I've thought about, but I don't have a top five. It could change any moment."
Winston recently camped at Auburn. On Saturday, he'll be at Alabama.
"Those are two offers I really want," he said. "They've both told me to be patient."
