The 6-foot-5, 195-pounder pledged to the Commodores on Nov. 30.
"I really liked Vanderbilt because the coaches seemed real down to Earth," Quinn said. "When the coaches came to see me at my house, they seemed real nice and they explained everything about how the scholarship would work.
"I made my commitment right then."
Passing game coordinator Jimmy Kiser was Quinn's Vanderbilt recruiter of record.
In addition to being part of Vanderbilt's offense, Quinn will contribute heavily on special teams. He's a long snapper.
"My tenth grade year (Byrnes High coach Bobby Bentley) wanted me to get out on the field and he asked me if I could long snap," Quinn said. "Well I got pretty good at it and I started doing it my tenth grade year and got pretty good at it.
"It's gotten me a lot of exposure."
Quinn's high school team just capped off its fourth straight state championship with a 51-8 victory against Columbia (S.C.) Richland Northeast in the Class 4A, Division II state title game on Dec. 3.
"I think our hard work and our work habits got us where we are," Quinn said. "We basically just loved each other through the whole thing."
