Wilson keeping options open

Lakewood (Wash.) Lakes three-star athlete Willis Wilson is ready for the start of his senior season. It's one that hopefully will end with Wilson hoisting a state championship trophy at the end of the year.
"I'm trying to get ready to help my team win a championship," Wilson said. "We have one more summer workout and then we'll be getting ready for two-a-days. I worked on my speed, and am trying to get faster, and I'm trying to get stronger so I can break more tackles."

Wilson, the No. 16 player in the state of Washington, said he has also worked on his versatility, which could help him be marketable. He now thoroughly believes he can be an impact player on either side of the ball.
"I think I'm more of an offensive guy since I've been playing it since I was little, but I like both positions," he said. "I think most schools see me at corner, but I'm not positive. I really don't care as long as I can help the team win. Either way is cool. Either is fine with me. I don't think a lot of people know what I can do yet, so hopefully this season I can help my team win and show colleges what I can really do."
Wilson picked up an early offer from Washington State. He said that offer has been joined by an offer from Idaho State.
"I've been talking to UW, Wazzu and a couple other schools," he said. "I really like Washington State, though. I like the environment. It's a nice school and it's away from any distractions. The city's based on college, and that's pretty nice. I've visited there, around February I think. I liked it a lot, it was relaxing. You can focus on football and school, that's nice.
"I've never visited Idaho State, but I think it's a good family type of environment. The coaches seem really cool and down-to-earth. I like that about them."
Wilson said he would like to hear more from programs in the Big 12, SEC and Big Ten, too.
"I'm not going to limit my options to anybody," he said.
