Wilson commits to Notre Dame

Akron (Ohio) St. Vincent-St. Mary defensive end Lawrence Wilson pushed back his announcement several times, indicating he was having a tough time deciding on a college. He finally did so on Thursday night.
"I committed to Notre Dame," Wilson said. "I called them last night. I talked to coach Willingham."

With scholarship offers from the Irish, Ohio State, Pitt, and others, what was the deciding factor for Wilson?
"I thought I fit in best at Notre Dame of all the schools," Wilson said. "I liked the whole set-up there. I liked the coaches. I liked the whole college experience.
"Ohio State was probably second."
The 6-foot-6 and 230 pound Wilson is the No. 12 weakside defensive end prospect in the Rivals.com player rankings and the No. 13 overall prospect in the state of Ohio. He visited Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Pitt before selecting the Irish.
