Patrick Willis, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker with 4.6 speed, has
been getting increased attention in recent weeks after a strong summer camp
showing.
"He's an incredible all-around athlete. He'll play
tailback and receiver for us, but he really shines on defense," said Bruceton
Central coach Joe Norval. "He's got the speed, strength (300+ bench), hands and great leaping
skills. In the gym, he can jump and touch the top of the box (on a basketball
backboard). And when he's playing defense, he really brings the wood. He loves
to hit."
Willis earned all-state honors as a junior, drawing
interest from the likes of Tennessee, Mississippi State, Memphis and Middle
Tennessee.
