Williamson planning official visits

Indianapolis (Ind.) Arsenal Tech cornerback Adonis Williamson has one team out front, but there is still more recruiting to be done before he makes a commitment.
"I am starting to make a move toward a decision, but I am going to take my officials first," Williamson said. "I will make (a decision) more toward the end of the season. If not that, then it is going to be on Signing Day."

Williamson does not have any official visits dates scheduled yet, but does know which schools he wants to visit.
"My main three are Missouri, Northern Illinois and Virginia Tech," Williamson said. "I am going to take a visit to IU and Nebraska, I am trying to get down there, and if I can't take a visit to Nebraska I am going to visit Ohio State.
"Me and my coach are still talking about it because during the season he doesn't want me to miss any practices. My coaches are setting (the official visits) up for me."
Williamson came out earlier this summer with a top three of Missouri, Northern Illinois and Virginia Tech, but one of those has emerged has a favorite after a recent campus visit.
"Of course it is going to be Virginia Tech because they took the time for me to come down there," Williamson said. "I liked the campus, but the thing I liked most about Virginia Tech was the coaches. The DB coach sat down with me and told me I could have a chance to start and he was showing me the coverages."
Virginia Tech also has an advocate on their side in defensive tackle commit Eric Whitehead, who is a former teammate of Williamson's and joined him on last month's visit to Blacksburg.
"We talk all the time and he likes it up there," Williamson said. "He is a big part of (the Virginia Tech interest)."
The 6-foot, 179-pound Williamson finished his junior season with 49 tackles and seven interceptions, including three he returned for touchdowns.
