Williams sets up weekend visit

Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure defensive back Michael Williams will take his long awaited official visit to Michigan this coming weekend. The athlete has already visited his other co-favorite, Notre Dame but there is still no definite time table on when a decision could come.
Williams, 5-11, 185 pounds is one of the more versatile defensive backs in the region this year. Whereas many see the athlete as a corner in college, we believe his best college position is safety despite lacking prototypical safety size. We've seen Williams in action three times this year and he has always been good for at least one highlight real hit and is one of best tacklers in the state.

Williams has 52 tackles in eight games this year and has also been a threat returning both punts and kicks. He's always around the football and is an excellent all around athlete with superior instincts on the field.
On the recruiting front, this has been largely a two team race for Williams since the summer with Notre Dame and Michigan battling it out. The defensive back took an official visit to South Bend in early October and will be in Ann Arbor this coming weekend.
"It worked out well because we have a Thursday game this week," Seraph coach Jon Mack said. "So he'll be able to go out Friday and stay the weekend. Michael has already visited Michigan on an unofficial visit but he's looking forward to seeing it again and comparing it with Notre Dame one more time.
"I don't think Michael will take any other visits but I don't know for sure. He really is only looking at Notre Dame and Michigan and I'm not sure when he'll make an announcement. It could be shortly after his visit or he could wait and do it at the Army game in January, we haven't really talked about it too much."
