Williams ready to represent

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- West Point (Miss.) three-star standout running back Aeris Williams is in Montgomery for the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic, and after a solid senior season he is happy to represent the state of Mississippi.
"I'm excited," Williams said. "I've been around these guys. I think we can win it if we just go out there and play hard and practice hard."

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound running back has been a leader on the field as well as a top running back throughout the week, and he plans to keep setting the bar high.
"You can expect a lot from me," Williams said. "I'll work hard as always. I'll run the pretty hard. Whatever happens, happens."
Williams committed to Mississippi State since July 31, when he chose the Bulldogs over Wisconsin and Florida State. Since then the recruiting process has slowed down, and Williams has not wavered on his decision.
"It's great, it's still solid," Williams said. "Me and Shump (Ashton Shumpert) are going to be back there doing our thing."
Williams plans to take his one and only official visit to Mississippi State on January 17.
