Williams looks forward to future at AM

LONGVIEW, Texas - Defensive end Cody Williams can't complain about much considering how well his high school career has gone.
During his senior season the 6-foot-4, 235-pound Williams has helped his team get to a 9-0 record and is ready for another playoff run after last year's great campaign. Off the field, he gave an early commitment to Texas A&M which remains very solid.

"Oh, I'm very strong with Texas A&M," Williams said about his commitment. "That's the place for me. I mean I had Texas Tech, Baylor, Texas, and LSU kind of pushing on me, but it's a good fit for me academically. As far as playing time, I think I can come in there and get a lot of that at A&M."
Williams, the consistent competitor, still knows he has a lot to work on before competing at the Division I level.
"I want to work on my technique first and foremost," Williams said. "I've got to perfect my rip and swim moves especially. I just want a chance to play and I'm going to do whatever I can to get me there soon."
Though the three-star, No. 23 rated defensive end in the country is looking forward to his career in the Big 12, he has not forgot about what he wants to accomplish before high school finishes.
"Right now I just want to win a state championship with my team," he said. "That way I can finish strong and get ready for the next step. Defensively we've gotten off to a good start and now we just have to finish."
