Williams adds SEC offer

Marrero (La.) John Ehret Rivals250 running back Darrel Williams continues to add SEC offers.
A few weeks ago it was Tennessee and LSU who jumped into the mix, and Tuesday morning the Florida Gators decided it was time to extend an offer.

"They've actually been talking to him since the beginning of the year and I wound up talking to [Derek Lewis] a couple of weeks ago and they saw the senior footage of Darrel from the first couple of games and I guessed they loved it," John Ehret assistant coach Shawn Galmore said. "[Coach Lewis] called me back and said we're about to offer him. That's when Darrel talked to Will Muschamp and the running backs coach. We've been talking to Florida since before the season started."
The offer by the Gators changes up a few things. There were talks of Williams, who is committed to Arizona State, visiting Tennessee or LSU November 23, and Auburn for the Iron Bowl (Auburn-Alabama) November 30, but the plans were always tentatively scheduled.
"We were supposed to go to Tennessee but we have the playoff game against Dutchtown, so instead of going to Tennessee we're going to A&M and LSU because Darrel's parents they haven't been to LSU," Galmore said. "His parents and everybody are going to LSU this week. Then the following week we're going to Florida-Florida State.
"We're not going to make the Auburn-Alabama game. We're going to Florida-Florida State. Florida offered, so you have to go with someone who has offered."
As for official visits, Williams does have a few dates already set, and a few others in the works.
"The only two for sure that are setup are Arizona State January 17 and LSU January 31," Galmore said. "Then it's probably going to be Florida, Missouri, and probably Tennessee right before Arizona State. Then Florida right before Tennessee and Auburn or Missouri the first visit. And maybe Alabama."
